Comments on Proposed Oil and Gas “Emissions Cap”

The Business Council of British Columbia has written previously about our concerns with Canada’s approach to managing greenhouse gas emissions from the oil and gas sector using an “emissions cap.”  Our view is that a cap is not needed and will damage one of Canada’s most productive and export-oriented industries. It will also exacerbate affordability challenges and is fundamentally at odds with economic reconciliation objectives.
